We’re Your Amateur Experts.
We’re Greg and Juliana, a young couple in North Georgia. We are planning our wedding, taking care of 5 pets, and are first-time homeowners of a cute little fixer-upper with a long list of home improvement projects.

eg is a problem solver & data analyst by day and a screenwriter by night. He loves movies from the 80s, any food that includes rice & cheese, and making up internal monologues for the dogs.
Juliana works for an email marketing company and is a singer/songwriter, erstwhile theater kid, writer and storyteller. She is working on developing creativity retreats for women and writes about the creative process over at Write. Play. Repeat.
We both love good food, laughing a lot, and learning new things.
How We Got Here
Both of our dads are “Home Depot junkies” but unfortunately, neither of us picked up too many handyman skills as kids. Juliana was the designated flashlight-holder for her dad on many occasions, but that’s about as much detail as she got on how to fix things. She can name and recognize most tools & their uses, but hasn’t gotten much practice yet.
Greg was the flashlight-holder, piece-counter, instruction-reader and “wrecking ball” for his dad, but the love of power tools never really rubbed off on him.
Armed with new tools, a few books, tons of online resources, and lots of humor, we hope to tackle most of the minor renovations ourselves, and to get help when we know it’s something we can’t handle yet. It’s important to us to know how to do things around the house, not only to save money and learn new skills, but also because being self-sufficient is priceless.
